Martedì 30 maggio 2023, p.v., presso la facoltà d’Ingegneria dell’Università degli Studi di Brescia terrò un seminario di un paio d’ore dal titolo: “Cybersecurity risks in the connected vehicle ecosystem: a Digital Transformation perspective on Network Security“.
Abstract
The automotive industry’s digital transformation has led to the emergence of connected vehicles that run on networked communication systems. However, this connectivity exposes the vehicle ecosystem to cybersecurity risks that threaten the security and privacy of the drivers and passengers. During the seminar we will review cybersecurity risks in the connected vehicle ecosystem from a network security perspective. We will review the various attack vectors that can be exploited by cybercriminals to gain unauthorised access to the vehicle network and compromise security. We will also analyse the potential impact of cyber-attacks on vehicle safety-critical systems and passenger safety, without forgetting to investigate the current state-of-the-art security solutions that are being developed and implemented to mitigate those risks. Last but not least, while it is true that the digital transformation of the automotive industry has established a new paradigm of cybersecurity risks that requires a holistic approach to network security, it is also undisputed that on the roadmap on Vehicle Forensics and vehicle-based digital evidence we are already behind the curve and need to fix this.
Ringrazio anche qui i Professori Federico Cerutti e Francesco Gringoli dell’invito che mi hanno fatto a intervenire su un argomento estremamente attuale, di grande interesse, su cui sono focalizzata da qualche anno e che mi piace molto.
